My project was created by the CEC, or the Community Enviormental Council. This project has to do with using sustainable energy in our every day lives. They are trying to make more and more homes 0 Net Energy homes, meaning that they create as much energy as they use. They do this by using solar panels, using CFL bulbs, and getting rid of "energy vampires" such as old computers and tv's that use alot of energy, even when the they are not in use. This project is very beneficial to the environment because it uses clean, green energy, and reduces the amount of CO2 emitted into the environment. Like any project, there are slight disadvantages to 0 net energy homes, a few being the high price, lack of experienced builders, and substantial debt. But I and the CEC agree that the benefits greatly out weigh the disadvatages, and that if we all take a little extra time to add cfl bulbs of even solar panels, our planet will become a much cleaner, greener place.
